Fair and equitable treatment for all
Our commitment to the provision of an inclusive service:
We strive to deliver a non-discriminatory service.
Our clients, their partners and families can expect to have their rights respected here.
Our inclusion policy welcomes lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.
We understand the differences between sexuality and gender identity.
As these can be highly sensitive issues we commit to using language and content that is relevant at all times, and respect confidentiality wherever legally and ethically possible.
We acknowledge the importance of gender identity and promise to treat transgender people in full accordance with their gender identity at all times.
It is our policy to ensure that we provide the best possible referral service to all our clients, including LGBT clients.
We may from time to time specifically promote those parts of our service that are most relevant to the LGBT community.
Our support for social justice:
We recognise that sexuality and gender identity can affect health.
Sexuality and gender identity issues will be recognised here and are included in our equity, diversity and anti-discrimination policies and procedures.
We support activities that address the social, health, legal and financial disadvantages faced by our clients.
We undertake to actively address all incidences of bullying, harassment or abuse, should they occur in this service.
Our responsibilities as a supportive employer:
We value workforce diversity and are committed to treating every member of our staff equitably and with respect, regardless of their sexual or gender identity.
It is our responsibility to provide an inclusive and respectful service.
We ensure that our staff receive the training and support necessary to deliver the best service possible to all our clients.
This charter is a sign of our commitment to creating a fair and equitable service for all.
Should an issue of sexuality or gender identity occur we commit to acting on any feedback provided in good faith.
